Ingredients

  • 350g Beef Strips
  • 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tsp Sesame Oil
  • 1x Garlic Clove (crushed)
  • 1 Tsp Fresh Root Ginger (finely chopped)
  • 1x Large Carrot (cut into matchsticks)
  • 100g Mangetout (halved lengthways)
  • 250g Chinese Noodles (to serve)
  • 140g Mushrooms (sliced)
  • 3 Tbsp Hoisin Sauce

Equipment

Method

  1. In a mixing bowl, mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic, ginger and beef and leave to marinate for about 20 minutes (we suggest over night if possible).

  2. Next, heat the wok with a splash of sunflower oil until the pan smokes, and add the beef marinade mixture and stir fry for around 3-4 minutes until lightly browned. Using a slotted spoon, scoop out the beef, leaving the rest of the mixture in the pan.

  3. In the marinade mixture, stir fry the carrots for 4 minutes and then add the mangetout for a further 2 minutes. Once done, add the beef back into the pan and toss through the mushrooms. Lastly add the hoisin sauce for a final few minutes.

  4. Separately cook the Chinese noodles and either plate the noodles and top with this beef mixture or add the noodles into the wok with the completed dish and stir through until combined and serve.
