Le Creuset Chestnut Hot Chocolate Recipe

  • 5ml Vanilla Paste
  • 1 Orange (Zest)
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 375ml Full Cream Milk
  • 80g Pre-Cooked Roasted Chestnuts
  • 100g 70% Dark Chocolate (plus extra for serving)
  • Whipped Cream or foamy milk (to serve)


  • Cutting Board
  • Kitchen Knife
  • Measuring Utensils
  • Medium Sized Le Creuset Casserole Dish
  • Wooden Spoon / Stirrer
  • Hand Blender
  • Zester


  1. First, finely chop the pre-cooked chestnuts and place in a medium sized Le Creuset casserole dish and then add the milk, vanilla paste, orange zest and cinnamon stick. On a medium heat, bring this to a boil whilst stirring occasionally, once boiled, turn off the heat, allowing the milk to infuse for a few minutes.

  2. To this mixture, remove the cinnamon stick and add the chocolate and honey. Mix well. Using a hand blender, blend until smooth and velvety.

  3. Serve hot with whipped cream or foamy milk and plenty of chocolate sprinkles. * Why not add some marshmallows on top? *
