Make your own Gingerbread House

Our recipe below makes the perfect quantity of gingerbread for use with the kit, or will make 30 - 40 large cookies.
Ingredients
- 1kg/2lb 4oz plain white flour
- 300g/11oz cold butter, diced
- 2tbsp mixed spice
- 2tbsp ginger
- 1tbsp bicarbonate of soda
- 450g/1lb light soft brown sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 225g/8oz golden syrup
- Pinch of salt
Method
- Sieve together the flour, salt, spices and bicarbonate of soda
- Rub the flour and butter together to resemble fine breadcrumbs
- Stir in the sugar
- Whisk the eggs and golden syrup together and then stir into the flour mixture using a wooden spoon
- Using your hands, knead the flour into a smooth ball of dough
- Follow the instructions in the box to roll out and cut the panels for your gingerbread house, then bake at 180°c for 8-10 minutes until golden brown. Leave to cool on a wire rack
